a little scrappiness + new printer's tray

oh, i love my printer's trays. those things rock! made a new one to go on the mantle. a non-christmasy one. i was pretty pleased with the way it turned out. maybe not as much as the christmas one, but i still like it! :) any suggestions on what to fill those apothecary jars with? now that it's not christmas, i took out the pine cones & cranberries. not sure what to put in there. also - a little scrapping i actually did recently... (you can find detailed pics of the tray & all the layouts in my gallery over at studio calico)

this one was inspired by listening to the glee soundtrack repeatedly. i think "no air" just might be my fav on vol.1. not sure. there are some pretty good ones on there...
this one is about noah's red, red cheeks when we were at lake tahoe. he didn't care!
this one is a lift of nicole samuels for a challenge posted over at studio calico to lift a favorite in your gallery. i did a pretty literal lift. her original was just too darn awesome. i didn't want to change anything!
i love this pic of noah. it was right after he wiped out at the bottom of the sledding hill!
collin was sooo excited to play in the snow & build a snowman. he was the only one interested in it. but, he didn't care!

some pics from our recent trip down to san francisco with whitney & riding the cable car.

  1. great projects, I had the same problem with apocathary jars post christmas. I put a candle in one and plan pinecones in another. I was thinking it might be fun to fill with some vintage-esque photos too.

  4. these are all beautiful pages!!! i love your work. =)

on the jars - since you have a pretty natural color scheme on the mantel, maybe sand or even pebbles?

  5. How about pink and red and white things for Valentines?

  6. Your mantle is gorgeous. I have one apothecary jar that I received from a tenant cleaning out the so-called clutter from his office. I didn't let on that I was excited as heck to get it for fear he would snatch it back. Christmas it was filled with red and white peppermint balls. I was thinking of filling it with conversation hearts for Valentines Day. How about sea shells or acorns? I think Michael's has little grapevine balls that may look cool in one, too. Just went to Pottery Barn and they have these fake eggs that look pretty cool and fit with spring. Love the robin's egg blue ones. I bet you can find them cheaper elsewhere.
